Why do we require an application?

Our application process is in response to two of the most common questions our Riders have prior to booking a trip with us:

1) Am I skilled/fit enough to participate in this Ride?
2) Will the other people on my Ride be skilled/fit enough?

Ensuring that you - and the other Riders on your Ride - are a good fit for the Ride selected is of paramount importance to us. We want to help you pick the Ride that's perfect for you, and ensure that everyone booked on a Ride is on the right Ride for them. That's why we want to know a bit more about you - your mountain biking history, where you ride, how often, etc... - before we take your money.

We review every application and if, based on your responses, we think you're a good fit, we'll approve your application and you'll receive a link to place a deposit. If we think you might not be a good fit (either too skilled or not skilled enough for the Ride you chose), then we'll give you a call to discuss your preferences in greater detail.

Please note: our application process isn't about excluding anyone, or making anyone feel like they're not 'good enough' to participate in one of our Rides. It's about ensuring that you end up on the right Ride for you, with people of similar skill, fitness and riding preferences. In the end this ends up being a much better experience for everyone.

Want to start mountain biking but don't know where to start? We can help! This four week lesson plan is designed and guided by a BICP certified mountain bike coach and will teach you the basic fundamentals of mountain biking and allow you to safely ride the trails.

The Brookvale Nordic Centre is the perfect place to learn to mountain bike. With a diverse mix of smooth beginner trails to more technical trails, it has options for all skill levels.

Each Saturday from August 17th - September 7th, riders will meet at the Brookvale  Nordic Centre  and be ready to ride for 9am. Instruction, demos and practice will  take place for the first hour and then the group will hit the trails to test out the newly learned skills! The rides will be at a slow and  steady pace and no rider is left behind!  There will be frequent stops along the way to practice various skills.  The session will wrap up around noon each week.

Along with developing your MTB skills, we will cover trail etiquette, basic bicycle maintenance, what type of bike is best and what gear to you’ll need. This four week program will give you the confidence and knowledge to start riding on your own or to join in on group rides!

Mountain biking is best with a buddy so let your friends know and we'll see you on the trails!   Ideally, all riders will  be  in attendance each Saturday but special arrangements can be made if required.

Fat bike rentals are available for just $25 per session and includes a helmet.
